Stress relief shouldn't be complicated. Sometimes all it takes is something soft, satisfying, and a little silly in your hand. Squishy and fidget toys have crossed firmly into mainstream — from sensory tools for kids with ADHD to desk companions for burnt-out adults who just need to squeeze something. We carry a curated selection at The Local Findery, and this guide breaks down the best picks by who you're buying for.
Why Squishy Fidget Toys Work
The science is simple: repetitive tactile motion — squeezing, stretching, pressing — activates the nervous system's calming response. For kids with sensory processing needs or ADHD, fidget toys provide grounding stimulation. For teens and adults, they're an idle-hand habit that's genuinely better than doomscrolling. And honestly, they're just fun.
